Hey, It's Me

Date: Tue 25 April 2006
Time: 10:52 PM EDT

I just realized that I haven't posted a real blog entry in almost two weeks. All the recent entries have been about the blog itself, not about me.

Sam and Bridgette came to visit somebody Bridgette used to work with in GA the weekend before last, and I got to hang out with them that Sunday. I met their baby for the first time...what a cutie. She seemed to like me, lots of big smiles. I can't wait till she's old enough for me to warp her fragile little mind. Bridgette says I'm an uncle now, which I think means I'm expected to spoil the little girl when her parents aren't looking.

I'm still struggling to get my motivation back. I've worked on the business a little here and there, but mostly I've just been playing video games and working on fun projects (like improving this blog) for the last few weeks. Maybe I need to get out some more, get more exercies. Tomorrow I'll see if the apartment office has started opening the pool. The weather's been great, but I've never seen anybody swimming in it.

Binky is sleeping on my lap right now. I'd love to get a picture of it, but I'd have to get up to get the camera. He wasn't a lap cat until right after Barney died. I think he misses cuddling with Barney, and I'm the next best thing. Yesterday he took a nap on my chest.

Here's something you won't see on TV in the USA any time soon: Root of All Evil? I downloaded and watched both episodes yesterday. It was refreshing to see somebody who isn't afraid to say that the emperor has no clothes. It reminded me of the 1980s when you could actually find scientific and skeptical shows on TV. Remember Cosmos?

I made a tuna casserole today. Now I am stuffed. I need to cook more. I was at Wendy's the other day, and when I told the girl behind the register that I wanted an orange soda with no ice, she said, "Yeah, I know, I already got it ready."

Search Feature

See the new search box at the top of the page.

I can't think of any more new features I'd like to add to the site, which is a good thing. Maybe now I'll stop playing around with this and get back to work.

Style

Date: Wed 19 April 2006
Time: 3:51 PM EDT

I picked up some mad CSS skillz from W3C's CSS2 Specification just now. The site kind of hurts to look at now, doesn't it? :)

I actually just spent about twenty minutes scanning over those specs, and this is the result. I'll probably update the style again in the near future to something nicer once I get a better grasp of how CSS works.

All this working on the web site I've done lately is my way of procrastinating because I haven't felt like working on more important things.
